Personal Interview
30% Total Score

  • Format:

    • Private, 10-minute interview with the judging panel.

  • Focus Areas:

    • Résumé, education, interests, current events, and community commitment.

  • What Judges Look For:

    • Communication skills, authenticity, confidence, charisma, and readiness to serve as a strong generational role model.

  • Attire:

    • Professional, polished business clothing (similar to a job interview).

On-Stage Question

10% Total Score

  • Format:

    • A live, onstage question about your Community Service Initiative (CSI).

  • Time Limit:

    • Maximum of 30 seconds.

  • What Judges Look For:

    • Intelligence, personality, composure under pressure, and the ability to clearly articulate the local impact of your service work.

Health & Fitness

20% Total Score

  • Format:

    • Onstage presentation demonstrating discipline and overall vitality.

  • What Judges Look For:

    • Energy, confidence, a strong first impression, and a radiated commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

  • Attire:

    • Approved Rebel Athletic Attire (mandated by the Miss America and Miss Virginia Organizations).

 

 

Talent

20% Total Score

  • Format:

    • A 90-second live presentation or onstage performance.

  • What Judges Look For:

    • Preparation, stage presence, entertainment value, and the ability to meaningfully connect with the audience.

  • Attire:

    • Wardrobe that complements the performance style or story.

Evening Gown

20% Total Score

  • Format:

    • Onstage presentation showcasing personal style and elegance.

  • What Judges Look For:

    • Stage presence, composure, and the ability to command attention. Evaluation is based on how you carry yourself, not the gown's designer or cost.

  • Attire:

    • Formal evening gown reflecting personal taste and event appropriateness.
